Arc Second, a provider of mobile engineering solutions, upcoming PocketCAD Software Development Kit (SDK) is based on the Windows CE .NET embedded operating system, the newest version of the Microsoft Windows CE embedded operating system. PocketCAD is a Computer Aided Design (CAD) application for Windows CE-based mobile devices. According to the Arc Second, the re-architecting of PocketCAD for the Windows CE .NET operating system allows for a new range of opportunities for PocketCAD developers, as commercial developers will now be able to embed Arc Second's mobile CAD technology into their own mobile applications. The company said the SDK allows developers to work in a variety of languages including Visual Basic and C#. Arc Second said PocketCAD 4.0 is compatible with nearly all desktop CAD software packages, including AutoCAD through 2002 and Microstation Release 8 and works with any mobile device powered by Windows CE. The company said PocketCAD's programming API allows 3rd party development and integration of PocketCAD with external input devices such as distance measuring lasers, GPS and other devices. PocketCAD 4.0 reads and writes DWG, DXF and DGN files using licensed technology from Autodesk and Bentley. Related Links:
