Financial App Compatible with BlackBerry Enterprise Server

HillCast Technologies has made availabile its MidCast financial streaming application for the new release of Research In Motion's BlackBerry Enterprise Server, version 3.5.

The company said BlackBerry Enterprise Server v3.5 provides in-house software developers and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) with a platform for extending corporate data wirelessly and securely. According to RIM, BlackBerry Enterprise Server v3.5 also provides IT departments with new management features that simplify the deployment and ongoing administration of BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds. With this new release of BlackBerry Enterprise Server software, an IT department can manage its BlackBerry wireless solution and leverage existing technology investments to provide end users with wireless access to corporate data applications beyond email.

"The BlackBerry platform is extremely popular with financial professionals because it provides secure, always-on wireless access to corporate information," said Mark Guibert, Vice President of Brand Management at Research In Motion. "HillCast's MidCast further extends the functionality of BlackBerry for investors, traders and advisors by streaming real-time financial market indicators such as quotes, price changes, volumes, bids, asks, and the time of transactions."

Founded in 2000, HillCast Technologies is a developer of real-time streaming financial applications for mobile devices. HillCast claims MidCast is the first carrier-grade designed mobile financial application that allows for secure and continuous real-time streaming of quotes, details, charts, graphs, and news.
