YOPY.AT, European distribution partner of the korean manufacturer G.Mate Inc., has introduced the new model of the YOPY Linux PDA to Europe, the YP3500. Compared to the recent YP3000 model, the company said the YP3500 has more memory, now offering 32MB Flash ROM and 128MB RAM. It is still powered by the StrongARM 206MHz Processor. The display offers a resolution of 240 to 320 pixels at 65k colors and now comes with background light support. The light can also be disabled to achieve more working time with the fixed battery. Also, in addition to the stylus pen and handwriting recognition, the new Yopy model offers a redesigned QWERTY keyboard with some special keys as well as an improved speaker, a visualized alarm and a attachable stylus pen. All accessories of the former YP3000 model can also be used with the YP3500. Regarding the operating system and applications, along with the new Yopy Linux distribution, called Linupy 2.0, you have the Boa web server and mySQL for remote PIM synchronization using a PC running any web enabled OS. The Linupy also offers an email client and the Dillo web browser. The company said since most of this years planned production is already sold to an Asiatic Telco company (SK Telecom), YOPY.AT has initiated an "Early Sunrise" - preorder event to ensure European customers a delivery this year. "With that event we are able to promise all customers having their Yopy YP3500 lying under their Christmas tree!" says Claus Pfleger, sales manager of YOPY.AT During the "Early Sunrise" period the new Yopy YP3500 is offered at a special discount price (60 Euro off compared to normal pricing) and giving a free stylus pen classic as well. During the "Early Sunrise" period, ordered YP3500s are slated to be delivered directly and across Europe as soon as they are available for shipping. Related Links:
