By Palm Boulevard Staff
iambic, Inc., a provider of software for Palm OS devices, recently released a new version of its Bump Attack Pinball game and made an annoument with Red Mercury, another handheld software company, regarding a partnership to bundle iambic's iambic Mail 3.0 with Red Mercury image viewer, AcidImage. The companies said this software bundle lets users receive image files by email and immediately download and view them directly on a Palm OS device, allowing them to send, receive and save image file attachments, and view the image in its native file format directly on a handheld device. With AcidImage, handheld users can organize, view and share electronic images. Image files can be viewed directly from memory card. Software features include options to rotate, pan, and zoom in and out and create custom slide shows. AcidImage supports all the latest Palm OS handhelds and works on both color and grayscale devices. iambic Mail supports high-resolution-plus Palm OS handhelds and the Palm OS 5 platform. The program includes a Virtual File System feature with which iambic said users can send and receive any type of attachment directly on the handheld device. In addition to composing, editing, sending and receiving email messages with iambic Mail, users can also send and receive all types of attachments to email messages. Downloaded files can be any size or format – whether it’s a spreadsheet, photo, image, picture, graphical data or a combination of file types.
