Oki Semiconductor Monday announced the availability of a Bluetooth development suite. This latest offering combine's Oki's BQB certified Bluetooth module and Module System Development Kit (BT-MSDK) with BQB certified software stacks and a variety of sample applications from Oki's partner, Open Interface. Oki has expanded its Bluetooth offerings to include a module integrating the chipset, Bluetooth software, an antenna and connector, a comprehensive systems development kit (SDK), and a Bluetooth protocol stack. With its fully qualified chipset, Oki is now offering both the chipset and modules for more options in Bluetooth design, and the module is now available for immediate sampling.

"Companies developing, or interested in developing products with Bluetooth capability can skimp on cost, but they don't have to skimp on what they get in this kit. It is a true, complete system kit with a protocol stack to boot. Oki has made it easy for companies with small budgets to evaluate Oki," said Joyce Putscher, director at In-Stat/MDR, a high-tech market research firm based in Scottsdale, AZ.

Priced at $495, Oki's Bundled Bluetooth offering consists of Oki's BT-MSDK, MK70120 module with antenna, and complete upper stack from Open Interface. In addition, customers receive a host of sample applications such as headset, printing and file transfer programs. By including these applications with a complete upper stack, customers can test the real world feasibility of virtually any product they are developing.
