GoAmerica has integrated its Go.Web OnPrem behind the firewall security solution with Palm's i705 handheld.

The offering also includes options for GoAmerica's Go.Web and Document Manager services. GoAmerica said Go.Web enables the mobile user to securely access corporate data, groupware applications and intranets, send and receive email and access the Internet from remote locations. According to the company, Go.Web intelligently compresses and encrypts data, optimizing it for viewing on all major wireless devices. Document Manager enables the user to open and read email attachments and to access documents and files for delivery via fax and email.

GoAmerica's standard offerings include over-the-air encryption from a wireless device to the GoAmerica server, as well as SSL and VPN from the server to the enterprise. Now, with Go.Web deployed behind the firewall the encryption and decryption of data can occur exclusively on-site at the enterprise.

The Palm i705 handheld is based on the Palm OS v 4.1 platform. It features 8MB RAM and 4MB Flash ROM, a VZ 33 MHz Motorola Dragonball VZ 33 processor, a rechargeable lithium polymer battery, and a HotSync USB cradle. It weighs 5.9 ounces, including the battery, and measures 4.65 inches x3.06 inches x0.61 inches, offers push email from up to eight email accounts, as well as Internet and intranet access, PIM functionality, built-in dual expansion through the Palm Universal Connector and Palm Expansion Card Slot, and the ability to create, edit and view Word, Excel, and PowerPoint compatible documents directly on your handheld.

GoAmerica and Palm said they plan to collaborate on future offerings, including secure wireless data solutions for Palm's new Tungsten line of Handhelds.
