The Series 60 is a software platform for smartphones that Nokia licenses to mobile handset manufacturers. It consists of telephony and personal information management applications, browser and messaging clients, as well as a modifiable user interface. The company said Series 60 is optimized to run on top of the Symbian OS. Series 60 licensees include Matsushita, Samsung, Siemens and Nokia.
