Deltek Systems Intellisyncs with Pumatech

By James Miller
April 29, 2002

Deltek Systems, a business software, solutions and consulting company, has licensed Pumatech's server-to-server connectivity and synchronization technology.

Deltek said the solution would enable users of Deltek's newest Web-based professional services automation solution, Deltek Vision, to synchronize their calendar, contacts, tasks and e-mail between Deltek Vision and Microsoft Outlook (via Microsoft Exchange), between Deltek Vision and Lotus Notes (via Domino), and between Deltek Vision and PDA and wireless devices.

Under the terms of the agreement, Deltek is purchasing a license to create server-to-server connectivity between its Deltek Vision software and Pumatech's Enterprise Intellisync Server product using Pumatech's XML toolkit. Deltek is also purchasing a license to distribute a version of the Enterprise Intellisync Server that will enable Deltek clients to deploy a wireless device synchronization solution throughout the enterprise, creating what the company calls a "three-way" synchronization capability among Deltek Vision, the Enterprise Intellisync Server (Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange), and Palm OS or Pocket PC/Windows CE handhelds.
