Socket Communications has made available an enhanced Bluetooth Connection Kit for Pocket PCs.

The company said the product creates a cable-free link between a Pocket PC, or other Windows CE device, and a Bluetooth-enabled phone, allowing a user to exchange email, browse the Internet, send a fax, or access the company network by using the mobile phone as a wireless modem. Enhancements to the CompactFlash Bluetooth card include upgraded firmware that is Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) 1.1 compliant, providing increased compatibility with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Socket said its Bluetooth Connection Kit and CompactFlash Bluetooth card has been awarded the Nokia OK logo, ensuring compatibility with Nokia’s Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones. In addition, Socket’s Bluetooth Connection Kit now supports connections to mobile phones from Ericsson, Motorola, NTT DoComo, and Sony, and it works on GSM/GPRS, CDMA, PHS and cdmaONE networks.
