Updated Psion netBook OS Supports Wireless Ethernet

Psion PLC today quietly released an updated operating system for the netBook PDA. The star feature of this release is in-built support for a range of PC Card Ethernet devices, including several 802.11 wireless Ethernet cards.

Having left the consumer PDA business behind last year, and having left the PC Card modem market just this week, this release is an indication of Psion's commitment to the enterprise computing market, which has always been the 'silent partner' to its PDA designs.

With the Opera web browser built-in, the netBook could be the challenger to hegemony of Microsoft mobile solutions. The netBook offers all this and 8 hours from one battery charge? Now why was it I needed a laptop…
