SanDisk Corporation has introduced a new line of industrial grade, solid-state flash storage products that include CompactFlash cards, PC Cards and 2.5-inch FlashDrives. The company said the Industrial Grade product offerings are designed for industrial and telecommunications customers requiring extreme endurance, reliability and data integrity.

According to SanDisk, its Industrial Grade products are well suited for embedded, remote and mission-critical applications. Some of these include handheld data collection terminals, medical monitors, factory automation equipment, communication routers and switches, and cellular base stations.

SanDisk said its Industrial Grade products would initially be offered in several form factors including CompactFlash, PC Cards (PCMCIA) and Flash Drives with capacities ranging from 16-512 megabytes (MB), 16MB- 2 gigabytes (GB) and 32MB-2GB respectively. Suggested OEM pricing is $445 for a 512MB CompactFlash and $985 for a 1GB PC Card and 2.5-inch FlashDrive. Volume production is scheduled for June 2002.
