Extended Systems' PC Sync Software Certified as SyncML-Compliant

By PDAStreet Staff
May 7, 2002

Extended Systems , a provider of mobile data management and wireless connectivity solutions, announced that the OEM version of its PC-based data synchronization software, XTNDConnect PC SyncML, has been certified as SyncML-compliant by the worldwide SyncML standards organization. SyncML is an open, industry-wide specification for universal synchronization.

According to Extended systems, the certified software provides manufacturers that have embedded SyncML client support on their devices with a pre-packaged device to PC synchronization solution for contacts, calendar, tasks and e-mail.

A company spokesperson said SyncML certification of XTNDConnect PC SyncML builds on existing SyncML support Extended Systems offers to developers with its SyncML Client Software Development Kit (SDK) -- a client toolkit that enables developers to implement the SyncML synchronization protocol into a wide range of mobile communication and handheld computing devices -- and to corporate IT with its server-based synchronization product, XTNDConnect Server.
