Franklin Electronic Publishers and Mobipocket plan to release Mobipocket Reader 4.4 bundled with the Franklin Thesaurus.

The companies said the latest version of the reader offers enhanced capabilities including instant lookup of selected words in Franklin's Thesaurus and support for higher resolution color screens found on some Sony CLIE handhelds, as well as support for CLIE's Jog Dial controller and storage of eBooks on Memory Stick media cards.

A Pro version of the release containing additional reader features allowing users to annotate or highlight selected text includes Franklin's electronic version of Merriam-Webster's Vest Pocket Dictionary.
