Semotus Solutions has launched its Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) compatible version of Equity Market Pro (EMPro) application, a real-time financial data application for the professional equity trader. The software is designed to deliver market data and news to traders on the new Research in Motion (RIM) 5810 device.

Semotus said the new version of EMPro is sourced using Reuter's market data, Dow Jones news and GovPX for the treasury yield curve -- all of which have traditionally been available in Semotus' financial applications. The company said individual users have the capability to customize their data and receive needs-specific information.

Enhanced features include the ability to create and track an unlimited number of watch lists for either push or pull delivery, snap quotes, charts and graphs, news headlines and releases, corporate profiles, symbol lookup, indices, and world composite data. Traders can also set-up change alerts for events that may have a significant impact on them.
