Arc Second, a provider of mobile CAD software solutions, today announced that PocketCAD PRO 4.0 and the PocketCAD Viewer 4.0 support for the the new class of Pocket PC handheld devices based on the Intel XScale processor. Intel's XScale architecture is designed to optimize low power consumption and high performance processing for a wide range of devices. Current processors deliver speeds of up to 400 MHz.

According to Arc Second's president and CEO, Edward Barrientos, "Since the launch of the original PocketCAD in 1998, we have worked very closely with microprocessor manufacturers and Microsoft to provide our users with the highest level of software and hardware compatibility." Barrientos added, "Our partnership with these industry leaders has made us the standard in mobile CAD applications and has allowed us to continuously provide our users with the latest in mobile computing technology."

PocketCAD is a Computer Aided Design (CAD) application for Windows CEmobile de vices. PocketCAD 4.0 reads and writes DWG, DXF and DGN files using licensed technology from Autodesk and Bentley. The company said it is compatible with nearly all desktop CAD software packages, including AutoCAD through 2002 and Microstation Release 8.
