PocketIRIS Manifests Medical Images on Pocket PCs

By James Miller
January 30, 2003

Digital Manifestatio has released PocketIRIS medical image visualization software for Pocket PC devices, offering clinicians access to full fidelity DICOM images on a Pocket PC.

According to the company, all a clinician needs to do is sync his handheld with a workstation and choose the images that he wants stored for future reference. In addition, image analysis tools such as window level, pan, zoom, and system overlay are available to aid the clinician in point of care decisions. Optimal viewpoints can be stored for later reference with a screen capture feature.

PocketIRIS is powered by Digital Manifestation's proprietary Dynamic Pixel Flux technology. The company said Dynamic Pixel Flux makes it possible for imaging information to be accessed and analyzed in real-time and in full-fidelity on low cost mobile devices.
