Unbound Medicine has introduced six new PDA references on its mobile knowledge management platform, CogniQ. The CogniQ Pediatrics Series includes pediatrics publications from PocketMedicine combined with Unbound Medicine’s literature management service. Available for both Palm OS and Pocket PC handheld devices, the company said these products provide information for clinicians caring for pediatric patients, including physicians, nurses, residents and students. The Unbound MEDLINE service allows users to track medical journals in their field and also to capture questions on the handheld that are answered with searches on the Web. Derived from data in the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed database, Unbound MEDLINE said the references deliver table of contents and abstracts from the latest journal issues directly to a handheld on synchronization. The CogniQ Pediatrics Series are: CogniQ Pediatrics – Silver contains the disease management reference Pocket Pediatrics. Pocket Pediatrics covers diseases and disorders in pediatrics and provides guidance on diagnosis and treatment. CogniQ Pediatrics - Gold contains Pocket Pediatrics plus a drug database, A to Z Drug Facts. Produced by Facts and Comparisons, A to Z Drug Facts provides detailed information on more than 900 generics and 3900 trade names. CogniQ Pediatrics - Platinum contains Pocket Pediatrics, A to Z Drug Facts and a drug interaction module, Drug Interaction Facts. Produced by Facts and Comparisons, Drug Interaction Facts allows users to check drug-drug and drug-food interactions for thousands of brand and generic drugs. CogniQ Pediatrics - Neonatology contains Pocket Neonatology, a neonatal reference for PDAs, produced by PocketMedicine and edited by Columbia University. CogniQ Pediatrics – Treatment Strategies contains the reference Treatment Strategies in Pediatrics, which focuses specifically on management of pediatric diseases. CogniQ Pediatrics – Chief Complaints contains the reference Chief Complaints in Pediatrics, which provides guidance on the differential diagnosis of a full range of signs and symptoms in pediatrics.
