By PDAStreet.com Staff Media Manager ($10) from Toysoft is a Palm OS system utility for managing media files for HotSync and IR beaming. With it, users can also set default applications, so you can set paths for files that don't have associated programs.
Media Manager also lets you define the extension types that it will receive from IR, up to 32 total. And it enables you to change default applications for receiving files using Exchange Manager or IR receive, so you can save a .Wave file, for instance, on an expansion card with the Tungsten T rather than RAM, as RAM is the default set by the PDA's voice memo software. Power Surf Pack ($28) for Windows Mobile devices consists of two applications, 2K Development's connect2internet and ReenSoft's PIEplus. With the Power Surf Pack, users can connect to the Internet using automatic detection of a network operator and mobile phone with connect2internet's automatic GPRS Manager, and have the content optimized for viewing on a Pocket PC's display with PIEplus. PIEplus also enables multiple windows and full screen surfing. Absolutist.com has released Bubble Golden Pack 2 ($27) and a new game, Bubble Thriller 2 ($17), for Sony Clie and Palm OS 5 devices. Bubble Golden Pack 2 includes three games (Shooter, Thriller, Flytrix), with new game modes (Strategy, Sniper, Arcade, Marathon).
The goal of Bubble Thriller 2 is to use your stylus to burst a bubble and all the bubbles of the same color next to it blow up too, and others slip upward and fill the gaps. The more bubbles burst the more points you get. Textware Solutions FitalyStamp3 is now available for the Kyocera 7135 and Samsung SPH-i50 smartphones.
FitalyStamp3 is a keyboard overlay that the company claims allows users of Palm OS devices to write/type at up to 50 words per minute with a stylus. Each version has been designed to fit over the existing Graffiti area of a specified device. The overlay also comes with software that allows you to customize the keyboard. The SlimLine Universal Mount Kit from Seido fits most Pocket PCs and Palm OS devices, including the Hewlett-Packard iPAQ with an expansion pack. It comes with a slim line (14mm thick) side grip cradle (short side arm or long side arm), 8 or 14 inch windshield pedestal, air vent clip pedestal, swivel adaptor and a car charger for your PDA. The SlimLine Universal Mount Kit is currently on sale for $35.
Two Stunads & Co. is running a After Thanksgiving Sale, so all their software is now over 30% off the normal price. Applications include SpaceTime ($19.95), a mathematical application for the Pocket PC that lets a handheld run 2D, 3D, and 4D graphing, an advanced scientific and RPN calculator, and nearly all the mathematical capabilities of a TI-83 Calculator, and Realms ($9.95), a space shooter, racing and adventure game.
A new updated version of LodeRunner ($14.95) for the Pocket PC from Ballshooter, based on the classic 80's game, comes with 50 levels.
In the game, you help a bounty hunter collect treasures, while avoiding (and preferably destroying) the evil guards who are trained to kill you. New artifacts in the latest edition include a shovel, a puncher, and a step-ladder, as well as a soundtrack. Related Links:
