Fonix Corporation, a provider of voice recognition solutions, plans to showcase its Fonix VoiceDial software ($19.95), the first release from its VoiceCentral Suite, as well as product roadmaps for additional Pocket PC,, Symbian and other smartphone-based products, at the 3GSM World Congress 2003 in Cannes France next week.

"We will showcase our vision of speech solutions as a compelling interface across multiple platforms and devices -- from servers to mobile devices and automobiles to mobile telephones," said Rolf-Juergen Bruess, president Fonix International.

Fonix VoiceDial is and interactive, hands-free software application for using one's voice to place calls on Pocket PC Phone Edition devices by number or by contact. The application supports all Pocket PC Phone Edition devices, including the T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition, the AT&T Siemens SX56, O2 XDA, and HP 928 WDA, as well as upcoming smartphones from Hitachi, the Multimedia Communicator, and Samsung, the i700. The latest version, 1.2, is considerably smaller, has natural voice prompts, and is available in English, German, French and Spanish.
