SYWARE has announced Visual CE for FileMaker Pro, the newest edition to its forms development software products for Pocket PC and Windows CE handhelds. Earlier this month, SYWARE was been chosen to participate in the Microsoft Mobility Partner Advisory Council, which Microsoft formed to provide a feedback mechanism for development of its mobile platforms.

The company said the latest release adds support for FileMaker Pro databases, allowing users to create mobile forms without progrming, then transfer and synchronize data between their Pocket PC or Windows CE devices and FileMaker Pro on the desktop.

Users decide what information they need, then use a set of drag and drop controls to customize their electronic forms. Data can be transferred and synchronized with FileMaker Pro, as well as other ODBC-based desktop database programs. Records can be viewed and modified on either the handheld device or the desktop computer.

Visual CE for FileMaker Pro works with FileMaker Pro 5.0 and higher. The software is available in four editions. The Lite Edition is priced at $19.99. The Personal Edition, with full forms design, relational database, and synchronization capabilities, is priced at $129. The Professional Edition includes all the features of Personal Edition and royalty-free distribution rights for $399. The Enterprise Edition includes all the features of the Professional Edition plus SYWARE's Report CE software for $599.
