AvantGo has shipped the second generation of its AvantGo Mobile Sales solution, which it said is a significantly enhanced version of its mobile application built to help executives accelerate the adoption of existing customer relationship management (CRM) and sales force automation (SFA) applications.

The company said the product features out-of-the-box Siebel and Web integration and provides handheld access to sales tools at the point of customer interaction, minimizing downtime by providing access to multiple data resources such as SFA, call center, ERP, intranet and legacy systems.

According to AvantGo, new features of the product include:

-- Smart Client Architecture - provides `always available' access--with or without a wireless connection--and fast on-device performance.
-- Data Adaptor for Siebel - enhanced for seamless integration with Siebel 6 and 7, the adaptor greatly reduces the integration and maintenance cost of a mobile Siebel solution.
-- Configuration and Design Manager - enables rapid deployment by providing a web-based utility to quickly configure AvantGo Mobile Sales.
