By PDAStreet.com Staff Skyscape plans to bring electronic versions of McGraw-Hill Professional's medical references to Palm OS and Pocket PC handhelds. Under the terms of the partnership, McGraw-Hill and Skyscape will give doctors, nurses, students and other medical professionals mobile access to medical references, beginning with McGraw-Hill's Essentials of Diagnosis & Treatment, which is available today. Currently in development with Skyscape are McGraw-Hill's Clinician's Pocket Drug Reference 2003 and Internal Medicine On Call, which is slated to be generally available in the next quarter. Essentials of Diagnosis & Treatment, 2nd edition, by Lawrence M. Tierney, Jr., MD, Sanjay Saint, MD, MPH, and Mary A. Whooley, MD. EssentialsDx, as the handheld version is titled, is the leading source of "quick takes" on 500 common and important disorders. Clinician's Pocket Drug Reference 2003 by Leonard Gomella and Steven Haist is a quick access guide that covers more than 900 of the most commonly used medications. Internal Medicine On Call, 3rd edition by Steven Haist, John Robbins and Leonard Gomella is a concise, portable reference that focuses on the evaluation and treatment of over 60 of the most common internal medicine on-call problems.
