Toshiba Shrinks Bluetooth SDIO Card

According to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website, it has given Toshiba permission to release a smaller and less power hungry Bluetooth SIDO card.

The new card measures 3/4 of inch less than the current 1.95 x .94 x .08 inch model, bringing its 1.6 inch length closer to the size of SD memory cards. The height in the current BlueTooth card is inconvenient because it sticks out of the SD slot and could get broken.

Toshiba's new card also cuts power consumption by half and meets the SDIO Card Type B and Bluetooth 1.1 specifications. Availability and cost of the new card has yet to be announed.
