Handango Distribution Platform Hits Wireless Milestone

Handango today announced the twentieth over-the-air implementation of Handango AMPP, its application download platform.

The company said vendors using Handango AMPP to provide downloads to their customers include Microsoft, Nokia, Motorola, Kyocera Wireless, Sony Ericsson, Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile, Orange, O2, Palm, HP, Sony, Handspring, Yahoo!, My Symbian, Wireless Gaming Review and more than 100 others.

According to Handango, over-the-air application distribution is growing in popularity as wireless networks become faster and more subscribers have data capable phones. The company claims some operators using Handango AMPP are seeing more than one-third of sales occur over-the-air when the user has both online and over-the-air access to the application catalog.

Handango introduced its cross-platform over-the-air technology back in March of last year.
