Synaptek Software has released TAPLESS Gen1.0 for the Pocket PC. The TAPLESS word-browsing environment aims to dramatically accelerate text input on the Pocket PC while simultaneously reducing manual skill requirements. It operates on the principle of successive approximation, allowing users to simply browse to any word or phrase within a Word-Web dictionary. Pricing is $29.95 for the Premium edition and $19.95 for the Basic edition.
iBIZ Technology is shipping a new Case/Keyboard combo for the Palm called the Xela ($69.99). The Xela initially supports the m500, m505, m515 and i705, but not the the Zire and Tungsten models. iBiz anticipates drivers for the Tungsten T to be ready by the end of May.
Adventure Solitaire ($16) is a new Palm game by Jim DuBois that blends high adventure, solitaire and puzzle solving.
If you're into baseball, you're in luck. AvantGo is offering a free channel called Pocket Baseball with the 2003 Major League Baseball schedule.

HandSmart's FlashPack is a Macromedia Flash standalone executable maker for pocket PC. FlashPack is designed to allow flash artists, game developers and content providers to distribute and manage Flash based content without requiring any programming skills. It is a windows based application from which the user publishes Pocket PC runtimes. Vesteon Software has upgraded its Personal Trainer-PDA Palm OS application to version 2.3.
New in version 2.3:
HandEra, formally TRGpro, one of the first Palm OS licensees, will no longer sell Palm OS handhelds, as its license expires next month and it has no plans to renew. So as of the first of May, the HandEra 330 and TRGpro, will no longer be available. The company plans to create new handhelds for the OEM market but not under its own brand and continue to serve as a consultant to companies creating mobile products. Could a Tablet PC rival a PDA in size? Toshiba thinks so. According to CNet, Toshiba plans to create a Tablet PC, featuring a miniature hard drive and a Pentium M processor, that is only a little bigger than a postcard.
