PDA Briefs: Agendus, DataViz Beyond Contacts, Security with Pictures, Handheld Management and More

DataViz's, the makers of the popular Documents To Go for syncing Microsoft Office documents with a Palm OS device, has released Beyond Contacts ($49.95), a solution for syncing Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes. Special offers are available and registered Desktop To Go customers can purchase Beyond Contacts for $29.95.


Iambic is offering 10% off its Agendus (formerly Action Names Datebook) personal information management application for the Palm OS to some users who own an earlier edition of the software when they upgrade before April 26.
SOFTAVA's OneTouchPass ($19.95) is an application that secures a Palm OS device with a picture or a photo. Users tap a secret point on an image of their choosing to gain access to their device.
Soft Object Technologies has released version 4.0 of Pocket Controller-Enterprise, an application for remotely managing and controlling Windows CE based mobile devices, including Pocket PCs. The software features a new user interface, new commands to transfer files, start/stop programs, view running processes, simulate keyboard/stylus input, and reboot devices, as well as a new Scripting Engine and more.


The latest edition of Contacts Pro MobiMate, version 3.0, supports Palm OS smartphones, including Palm's Tungsten W, Kyocera's 7135, and Handspring's Treo, as well Bluetooth-equipped devices. Contacts Pro is a contact-management application that allows a user to locate a contact in the address book using 2-3 keystrokes, and then dial, SMS or email that contact. Version 3.0 adds full-screen search list, keyboard and keypad support, keyboard shortcuts, email support on newer devices and more.


X-PRO X-PRO, a solution that turns a Pocket PC into VoIP phone, is Xten Networks flagship application. According to the company, it is a premium SIP-based User Agent with all the features and functionality of a small business phone system. X-Lite is a free version that does not provide some of X-PRO's higher-end features.
