By Pumatech's Enterprise Intellisync version 5.1.2 adds support for the Lotus Notes 6.0 and Novell GroupWise 6.5 groupware applications. Enterprise Intellisync provides two-way, desktop-based synchronization between PCs and Palm OS, Pocket PC or Windows CE devices, automatically synchronizing email, calendar, contacts and tasks with PIM and groupware applications such as Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express, Lotus Notes and Organizer, Novell GroupWise and ACT!. Mobility Electronics, and CRF Box, a vendor that specializes in electronic patient diaries and mobile data capture for clinical R&D, have developed a solution based around the Palm m500 handheld to allow the collection of clinical trial data from patients on a global scale. Ongoing clinical trials involving 5,000 patients in 19 countries are using the companies' solution. In other medical/PDA related news, Skyscape, a provider of mobile medical and nursing references, will offer all of eMedicine's peer-reviewed content available to medical professionals on their Palm OS handhelds. eMedicine is the producer of the eMedicine Clinical Knowledge Base and an online service for health care workers. This is the first time users will be able to use Skyscape to access dynamic peer-reviewed treatment and diagnostic information on their PDAs. In Pocket PC medical news, PhatWare has released a 130,000 word English language medical dictionary for its CalliGrapher and PenOffice handwriting recognition products. The dictionary is used to increase handwriting recognition quality and for spell checking, and includes a complete listing of medical terms, prescription drug names, abbreviations, and more. Vindigo is bringing MobieGoer, a movie guide for wireless phones, to Verizon Wireless' Get It Now-capable phones. Users can download the guide over the air to look up movie information including show times, reviews and even directions to the nearest theater.
Palm is bundling Colligo Networks Colligo Meeting for WLAN software on each of their newly released Palm Tungsten C handhelds with integrated WLAN wireless connectivity. While working offsite, Colligo lets users share their Palm Date Book calendars and book meetings Colligo Meeting Suite for WLAN costs $39.99 per license. MobiMate has joined the Symbian Platinum Program. MobiMate's WorldMate for Symbian OS, a mobile travel application, recently landed at the top of the Symbian best-seller application list on Handango. As part of the Platinum Program, MobiMate and Symbian will co-operate in the development and marketing of additional products for Symbian OS phones. Dell has released a update for the ROM of their Axim Pocket PCs( v.04100300EN, A01).

Users of the Series 60 based Nokia 3650 and 7650 imaging phone users can now use the My AvantGo service to access over 2,500 channels of news, sports, weather, entertainment, travel info and more. The Series 60 is a software platform for smartphones that consists of telephony and PIM applications, browser, messaging clients and a modifiable user interface. The software platform runs on top of the Symbian OS.
SMART Communications, a Philippine wireless services provider, is bringing Research In Motion's BlackBerry wireless platform to the Philippines for the first time to corporate clients via its GSM/GPRS network. Siemens' demoed a GSM/GPRS CompactFlash Phone Card (the CF 45) at its technology showcase held at Roke Manor, England. The card is slated for release sometime in the fourth quarter. Chapura's, the company that brings Microsoft Outlook synchronization to most Palm handhelds, plans to offer KeySuite this summer. KeySuite is an alternative to the Palm handheld applications that the company said eliminates the need to reorganize, rename and revise information in Microsoft Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes in order to meet the requirements of the built-in Palm Date Book, Address Book, To Do List and Memo Pad.
