IntelliChess for Pocket PC 2002 by TB Labs, LLC took the third prize in the "Best Pocket PC 2002 application" software contest in Russia.
The contest was organized and sponsored by Microsoft (Russian Branch) in cooperation with Russian vendors of Pocket PC handhelds. More than 70 Pocket PC applications were presented.
Triv, a 7-in-1 trivia suite for Palm handhelds, is on sale through May 15 for 20% off.
The latest release includes 4 new Geography modules and Choice Couplets rhyming, multiple choice trivia module, bringing the total number of available questions to over 20,000. Triv 3.4.3 (normally $15 but for now $11.99) includes five game variations (including Trillionaire and Trivia Pizza) and two utilities (TrivWriter and TrivFind).
Vesteon Software's Personal Trainer-PDA v2.3.0, a Palm OS fitness application, has added “beaming.” So users of the Multi-Client version (Personal Trainers, Coaches, Physical Therapists…) can now “beam” workouts directly to client’s PDA’s (Single-User version). This precedes the release of an accompanying Personal Trainer-PDA Desktop application. The desktop software, due within the next two months, is slated to include data entry, synchronization, charts, calculations, forms, and reports. 
Griffin Technology is shipping the iTrip FM Transmitter ($35), which brings FM radio to Apple's popular iPod MP3 player. The iTrip offers unlimited station frequencies and a battery-free iPod mating design. The iTrip rests on top of the iPod and attaches to the headphone jack.
In related news, Apple recently introduced the next generation iPods, which are slated to be available on the May 2nd, with some features found in PDAs, such the ability to store PIM information like contacts, calendar, and to-do lists. The new iPods handle up to 7,500 songs and come in three sizes, 10GB ($300), 15GB ($400) and 30GB ($500).
Electric Pocket's QuickStart for the Sony Ericsson P800 smartphone enables P800 users to quickly access their favorite applications by simply pressing a "HotKey" and choosing the application they wish to launch.
GiveMePower has added laser measurement support to its PowerCAD CE Pro mobile CAD system. This allows architecture, construction and design professionals to create real-time as-built floor plans directly in the field using a Leica Geosystems AG DISTO Pro or Hilti AG PD 25 portable laser measurement device and a Pocket PC, Tablet PC, Handheld PC or Pocket PC smartphone. FitalyStamp 3 is a new version of FitalyStamp, a keyboard overlay the company claims allows users to write up to 50 WPM on a Palm OS device. The new version offers custom slides and a new macro capability. In addition, FitalyStamp 3 offers launcher features that are usable directly from the Fitaly keyboard. Knight Lite ($7.95)is a new Pocket PC game from Clickgamer Technologies. In the game, you Guide Vesuri the heroic Knight through five stages to rescue the Princess. 
Proporta is offering a new aluminum case ($38) for the HP iPAQ 1910. For those who pre-order the case, Proporta will send them a Neoprene case to use until the aluminum one arrives. 
UTrackSys.com has released the Universal Tracking System version 1.6 for Palm OS. UTS helps you track any data that is specific for you: time, expenses, mileage, calories, body weight, medical tests and more.
New in version 1.6 UTrackSys.com has also released a weight tracking plug-in for Universal Tracking System. It tracks body weight and BMI (Body Mass Index). It also offers various weight loss/gain plans, interactive charts, reports, and abilities to export data to the UTS database and to MS Excel through a conduit. FIS's PortMgr Pro ($24.95) is a Pocket PC application that keeps track of all your investments, including stocks & shares, options, futures, bonds & funds, with Internet update, file update & manual update. It supports every financial market and has no restrictions on the number of portfolios that can be monitored, or on the number of positions per portfolio that can be entered.
