Epoch Admin Shell BlackBerry Compatible

By RIM Road Staff
April 7, 2003

Epoch Integration today announced that its NeedTEXT Shell software is available for all Java-based Research In Motion BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds.

According to the company, the software allows IT staff, such as system administrators, to securely access their servers and networks behind the firewall via a command-line interface, so as to manage their servers, routers, and other network equipment.

Administrators can use all of their standard command-line tools such as telnet, SSH and FTP, to detect, diagnose and fix problems. With this J2ME release, the NeedTEXT Shell supports all BlackBerry users on GSM/GPRS, Nextel and CDMA2000 1X wireless networks around the world.
