TAPandGO's mcTraveller ($15.99) is a Pocket PC application that delivers localized information for the international traveller. It includes a number of features, such as Local Time, World Time, International Alarms, an Interactive Daylight Map, Distance, International DialCodes, Currency Conversion, Itinerary, Today Modules, a Configurable Interface and Weather Forecasting. McTraveller comes in English, French, German, Spanish & Italian versions.


When Iambic Adgendus users upgrade to version 6, they are automatically entered into the drawing for a Sony CLIE PEG-TG50. The sweepstake runs till June 15. Adgendus is a popular tool that enhances the PIM features on the Palm OS.


PDA software store PDATopSoft.com has added a new category to its website. From now on the website is distributing software for specific smartphone devices in a new section.
DDH Software has announced an HanDBase Applet Contest. They are looking for creative, useful applets showing off HanDBase's flexibility. It said applets will be evaluated with the Forms User Interface being worth 50% of the total score and originality, functionality and overall use of field types rounding out the other 50%. They are going to award a grand prize of $1000 along with second and third prizes of $250 and $100 CompUSA gift certificates respectively. The deadline for accepting contest entries is May 15.
To compliment the recent release of its aluminum case for Dell's Axim X5 Pocket PC, Proporta has added a dedicated Axim section to its website. The section includes USB hotsync and charge cables, an emergency charger, a power pack, and other features.

In related news, Dell has posted a ROM update for the Axim on its website, offering a number of a faster start-up time and improved XScale support among other features.


PDAmill has introduced the most recent beta of TopKey, a customizable software keyboard for the Pocket PC. The beta is available for download at the PDAmill website.


NS Basic/CE has won the Microsoft Mobile Solutions Challenge - Best Development Tool award, which was given at the Microsoft Mobility Developer Conference in Paris.. NS Basic allows developers who have programmed with tools such as Visual Basic to use their experience to develop applications for Windows CE based devices.
