Samsung and Sprint are going all out to make your Matrix Reloaded experience as real as possible with the release of a new limited edition Matrix inspired phone, the Samsung SPH-n270. The Dual-band/Tri-mode phone measures 4.52 x 2.28 x .78 inches and weighs 4.58 ounces.

ePocrates, a handheld network for clinicians, has launched a desktop complement to its PDA software applications. ePocrates Rx Online, the company's first internet based product for the desktop, aims to offer similar features as ePocrates Rx Pro , its premier handheld clinical reference guide, as well as additional functionality and content better suited to the desktop environment. JAMDAT Mobile is acquiring Hexacto Games, a provider of games for Palm, Pocket PC and next-generation 3G phone platforms. As a result of the acquisition, JAMDAT said it plans to add Hexacto's entire library of original and branded titles, integrate Hexacto's Montreal-based development team into its publishing business and expand to additional mobile entertainment platforms. Hexacto Games include Tennis Addict, Baseball Addict, The Emperor's Mahjong, Lemonade Tycoon, and others. Clickgamer's Ramparts ($8.95) is a 50 level Medieval Platform action Race game for the Pocket PC that takes place across the hazard filled ramparts of a castle. Players dodge arrows and dangers in their quest to save the fair damsel, while fiendish traps await them with flaming fire pits, arrows, cannonballs and huge swinging flail.
PDA software developer LearningToGo and Handango are offering up to a 50% discount on six Palm OS LearningToGo applications, including DictionaryToGo, Amy Reiley's Pocket Gourmet, Bible With You (KJV), Floor Plan, BookBag Plus, and BudgetBook, through the end of May. 2K Development has introduced the newest version of connect2internet for Pocket PC 2002 devices. connect2internet PRO Version 2.0 is a GPRS, SMS and Phone Manager and a way to connect a Pocket PC to a mobile phone. connect2internet PRO 2.0 is available in English and German for $34.95.
Neal Stephenson's New York Times Best seller Cryptonomicon is available as an eBook from Fictionwise. If this title sells well, Fictionwise said it hopes to get more Stephenson works as eBooks. With that in mind, Fictionwise is offering the book with a 50% Micropay rebate when it is purchased by credit card. The special runs through May 15.
NS BASIC Corporation's NS Basic/Palm 3.1 ($149.95), a solution for creating applications for the Palm OS, includes a Chinese language IDE and adds new features which take advantage of Palm OS 5, including support for Hi Res images, lines and shapes, support for Hi Res signature capture and the ability to recognize the new buttons on Zire 71 and Tungsten C devices. Toysoft's Xforcer ($19.95) security application is now compatible with Palm Tungsten C and Zire 71 handhelds. Xforcer implements AES 256 bits encryption algorithm and SHA1 hashing technologies, encrypting and decrypting databases transparently without user intervention. The Palm OS handheld is locked until the correct pass phrase is entered. Xforcer features traditional text pass phrase entry and new keypad pass phrase entry.
DreamSpring has updated DreamScribe ($15.95), a personal information management application for Nokia Series 60 smartphones, which are based on the Symbian operating system. According to the company, the DreamScribe update fixes several defects, so the software better integrates Contacts, Calendar, and To-do items.
Buy a Palm Zire 71 ($299) handheld and the PalmPak SEGA Classics Expansion Card ($29.95), which includes Sonic the Hedgehog, Shinobi, Super Columns and Shining Force II: The Sword of Hajya, directly from the Palm website through May 18 and Palm will throw in the PalmPak Games Card: Rayman (worth $29.95) for free.
