Handsmart has released its follow-up to FlashPack Standard, FlashPack Jr. ($39.95), a flash executable creator for the Pocket PC. Handsmart said FlashPack Jr. targets designers and flash artists seeking a more economical solution for distributing their content to Pocket PC users. According to the company, FlashPack requires no programming skills and enables complete creation of executables in just a couple of clicks.
Battle of the Generals ($9.95), a military strategy and tactics game, is now available from Clickgamer Technologies. Amazingly, the company said Battle of the Generals is based on the classic games of Chess, Checkers and Stratego, as it is a board, puzzle and strategy game all in one. While you play it like Chess, you’ve got too think like Stratego.


Novasib's, a provider of data input solutions for Palm OS devices, latest product is called Silkyboard Calc , designed for use with Symbol SPT 1500, 1550 devices. The company said Silkyboard Calc, which is based on Novasib's Silkyboard 3.0 protective keyboard overlay, includes additional features that allow the Silkyboard Calc be more powerful. Silkyboard Calc extended features include the ability for a single key to produce up to six different actions, and any of these actions can be customized with a "Redefine" feature.
The latest Beta of the Avantgo client is version 5.2 build 83 (released 5/14/03). According to the company, the latest build includes numerous minor bugs and features navigation changes to improve the behavior of the Five-Way Navigator of Palm handhelds and Jog Dial of Sony PDAs.
Palm is offering $50 off a Zire 71 or any Tungsten (T, W or C) model PDA when the buyer trades in an older Palm OS or Pocket PC device. According to Palm, the new handheld must be bought by July 14 and all requests must be postmarked by August 14 and received by August 21. The limit is one $50 rebate per purchase and ten rebates per customer name and address. A claim form is available at the Palm website.
Through May 21, you can purchase a feature packed Dell Axim x5 handheld for 15% off its regular price. So you can get the 300MHz, 32MB RAM and 32MB ROM edition for $169.15 and the 400MHz, 64MB RAM and 48MB ROM version for only $276.25. Both configurations feature dual-slot (Compact Flash and Secure Digital) expansion capability and a 65,000 color screen.


msmobiles.com says Chinese computer vendor Legend plans to released a new Pocket PC Phone Edition device next month with a 400MHz processor, 64 MB of RAM and 32 MB of ROM.


668 Software and Constant Games Edge (Extreme Dungeon Game Experience) is an upcoming role player game for Palm OS 5 devices that features console-quality graphics and a deep storyline. It is set in a dark medieval world of demons and dragons, elves and dwarves, rogues and wizards. The companies haven't set a release date or the price for the game yet.

In 4Pockets Sid Sucks ($14.95), the player guides Sid the cheeky cleaner through colorful worlds sucking up everything in sight. Using the engine from their Marble Worlds game, 4Pockets claims it has taken the muncher genre to a new level on the Pocket PC with Sid's isometric 3D graphics, ramps, springboards, jump pads and other features. Unlike Marble Worlds, which tests control skills, this game is about getting around quickly.
