nReach, a mobile content delivery vendor, has signed and begun deploying trials with seven national consumer electronics retailers for in-store, self-serve Mobile Content Vending Machine for mobile phones. The vending machine allows consumers to purchase content including ringtones, graphics, games and applications, as easily as if they were purchasing a beverage at a soda machine.

Toysoft's wavAlarms for the Palm Tungsten T, C and Zire71 allows you to associate any uncompressed wave file to any application. When the application's alarm is triggered, wavAlarms will play the wave file, your favortie song for instance, from the external card and then let the application sound the alarm. Toysoft said wavAlarms works with all applications with alarms.

FoneDB is SYWARE's new database software for Microsoft Windows Powered Smartphone devices. SYWARE said FoneDB allows mobile operators, wireless content developers, and end users to quickly and easily create full-color, data-driven applications for mobile phones without programming. FoneDB costs $399 for 1 FoneDB Development Environment, 1 FoneDB ODBC driver license, and run-time licenses for 10 users. Additional Run-time Packs cost $50 for 10, $300 for 100 and $1000 for 1000.

Pipe Frenzy ($12.95) is the first game from recently started Palm software company NewBornGames. The application is an adaptation of the game Pipe Mania, where the goal is to quickly place pipes on a game board to form a pathway for running water. Pipe Frenzy has full support for OS 5 devices, and comes with high resolution graphics as well as enhanced sound. Other game features are: Three different skill levels, water splitters, multiple water flows, and exploding pipe blockers.

PDA case manufacturer Xigma Style Japan has released new leather jackets for the Zaurus SL-C700/750 Linux based PDAs. The case ($59) comes in Black/Red, Black/Beige, and Black/Black. The exterior of the case is made of Napa cowhide and the interior is made of lambsuede.
