CommonTime mNotes version 3.0.2 is a 2-way wireless synchronization application for Pocket PC and Windows CE devices. mNotes users can get mail, calendar and contacts pushed to their device going beyond mail-only push. It also replicates task and journal items and possesses an calendar engine showing attendees and event comments on the device. Ultrasoft has acquired the development rights to BrainForest, a action item, checklist manager, idea keeper, and project planner for Palm users. They've been working on a new, enhanced version of their own, which is currently in public beta. They plan to release it in a few weeks. In other Ultrasoft news, Ultrasoft Money, which integrates with Microsoft Money, and CheckBook have been updated with bug fixes and other enhancements, including support for the latest Palm devices and better integration with the FindHack finder extension. By special arrangement with the Microsoft, through June 30, the companies are offering a special deal for a discount on Ultrasoft Money when it is bough in tandem with Microsoft Money. Clickgamer Technologies' Jack the Uni-Psychle ($14.95) for Pocket PC and Zaurus platforms is a 4MB sidescroller game that covers 6 levels with 35 stages of enemy squashing and gold-tire collecting. Evil aliens have escalated their activities to intolerable levels, and as Jack the Uni-Psychle, the player is out to stop them. As Jack, you race through abduction sites to defeat these invaders and their boss, the evil Dr. Apocalypse in the hopes of regaining your body.
Palm OS software developer Red Mercury is offering a 15% discount on all its products through May 7. In addition, the company has declared May as 'Share Your Addiction Month.' During which Red Mercury customers can earn points towards free Red Mercury products with every purchase they inspire from other people. Red Mercury applications include AcidSolitaire, AcidFreecell, Atom Smash and AcidImage. Toysoft has released myWorkbnech 4.7 ($19.95), a file manager for the Palm OS, with added support for EruWare's CompactFlash driver for Sony NX Series. myWorkbench lets you manage databases in RAM and files on the external card such as SD/MCC, Compact Flash and Memory Stick. In addition to the basic file management functions myWorkbench also does backup (compress files) and restores databases from the external card, launches applications from RAM and anywhere on the external card, maintain lists of orphaned databases and more.
Fictionwise.com, an eBook retailer, has launched it's annual battle of the Summer Movie eBooks. This year, it's the Hulk against the X-Men. They are offering a a 100% Micropay Rebate on either title when purchasing with a credit card through May 8th. Fictionwise will display which title is doing better on a graph on its homepage.
Infinite Ventures has launched a website offering details about its upcoming multiplayer strategy game called Lands of Shadowgate for Pocket PCs and phones (Nokia 3650, Microsoft Smartphone). Lands of Shadowgate should launch for Pocket PCs first and then we will move to a wireless version for the phones. On the site, there is a sign-up section to be notified about updates and features added to the game and to take part in an open beta test, which is slated to begun in about a month.
PN Technologies has made available a new type of case for the following Sony CLIE handhelds: PEG-TG50, PEG-T665C, PEG-T665, PEG-T615, PEG-T415, PEG-SJ33, PEG-SJ30, PEG-SJ22, PEG-SJ20, PEG-T415, PEG-N710C, and PEG-SL10. The company says the case is made of soft rubber and can absorb shocks, even if the handheld is dropped onto concrete from a great height. The part numbers of the new cases, which cost $35.49, are PDCG-GRD2 and PDCG-GRD3.
Xora, a provider of mobile solutions for the enterprise, has signed an agreement with Ingram Micro for the distribution of Xora products in the U.S. Xora's mobile offerings includes Xora Mobile Office, which allows users to wirelessly access Email, Calendars, Contacts and Tasks from either Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes. Devices supported by Xora include Palm OS and Pocket PC based smartphones such as the Handspring Treo, Palm Tungsten-W, and Pocket PC Phone edition (T-Mobile). |
