By PDAStreet.com Staff
According to Intermec, its linear imager can read damaged, low contrast, laminated and high density bar codes better than a laser. It also can read bar codes directly from CRT or LCD displays. The scanner is activated by a side-mounted button that allows one-handed operation. An optional removable pistol grip with scan trigger button offers another option for data capture. Keypad layouts available for the 2435 handheld include function-numeric and the new full alphanumeric option with large elastomeric keys that Intermec said provides positive tactile feedback. A loud-to-soft customizable beep confirms scans in noisy environments. The 2400 family of wireless handhelds, including models 2415, 2425 and 2435, incorporate 802.1x wireless security protocols, an IEEE standard that provides an authentication framework for 802.11-based local area networks.
