Targus' new Universal Wireless Keyboard is a foldable full-sized keyboard that is compatible with most PDAs and smartphones. The keyboard features a rotating infrared arm for IR connectivity and retails for $80.
Borland has released Borland Mobile Studio, Borland Enterprise Studio for Mobile and Borland JBuilder 9 Mobile Edition. The company said both studio suites offer mobile productivity enhancements for organizations developing in Java and C++ languages. Borland Mobile Studio is aimed at application development for mobile devices, while Borland Enterprise Studio for Mobile extends this capability across the enterprise, and Borland JBuilder 9 Mobile Edition is for developers targeting mobile devices for the Java 2 Platform, Mobile Edition. The new mobile products also integrate the latest software development kits from Nokia and Sony Ericsson. 3nity -The Star Combination Project from Smart Mobile Applications uses 128-bit encryption to help those with Palm OS handhelds secure and manage passwords, credit cards numbers, secret telephone numbers, registration codes, bank accounts and anything else they want keep out of other people's reach.
Proporta is taking pre-orders for its new aluminum case ($29.95) for Palm's Zire 71 multimedia PDA. Those who place an order will recieve a free wet-suit style neoprene case to use while they wait for the aluminum case to arrive. This neoprene case is theirs to keep.
In more PDA case news, Xigma Style Japan has released a new Leather Jacket ($89) for the Sony CLIE TG50. The case uses calf skin on the external side and internal card pockets, and soft lamb suede on the device pocket. Two memory sticks and one credit card can be carried with the TG50.
Astraware has finally released the high-resolution version of its popular racing game for the Palm OS, GTS Racing Challenge ($17.95). The high-resolution and audio enhanced version is a free update to all registered users.
PPC Tech is offering a 128MB internal RAM upgrade for the HP iPAQ 5400 Series. This memory upgrade does require their proprietary driver and is segmented as 64MB 'conventional' and 64MB as their Hi-Speed T2T Disk. This unit uses BGA memory, so stacking is not available and 128MB will be the maximum capacity. The company also plans to makes its WriteSHIELD screen protector available later this month for the Palm Zire 71, Handspring Treo 90/300, and Toshiba e750 handhelds.
Pocket PC developer PDAmill's latest Pocket PC game is GameBox Solitaire ($9.95), a card game pack with ten different games, three sound tracks, animations, statistics, and alpha effects. Games in the bundle include Blind Alleys, Canfield, Chinese, East Haven, Fourteen Out, Freecell, Golf, Klondike, Pyramid, and Pyramid golf.
