PalmSource to Partner with Visto on Mail Client

PalmSource plans to work with Visto to build a standard enterprise-grade wireless email client for the Palm OS platform.

PalmSource and Visto said the will co-market the new default messaging solution to Palm OS licensees and their wireless operators. The companies said the new email client will provide secure, reliable push-email capabilities between Palm devices and enterprise-grade mail servers such as Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino, as well as access to POP3/IMAP mail servers.

The new email client will become the default messaging solution for the Palm OS platform.
