General Microsystems has released the latest version its search engine for the Palm OS, IntelligentFind 2.6.3 ($14.95). The update, which are free for registered users, includes a few bug fixes and adds support for searching uncompressed Wordsmith documents.

Astraware has made available Hi-Res and Audio Enhanced versions of both Text Twist and What Word for Palm OS, and on Friday June 6th shall be releasing the Hi-Res / Audio Enhanced version of GTS Racing Challenge.

                  


Inforetech Wireless, a supplier of GPS technology for the golf industry, is preparing to ship 160 handheld Inforemer GPS units to golf courses on the Chinese mainland and Thailand. The company has signed an agreement with distributor Asia GPS Golf to begin preparations for GPS mapping of the Chinese and Thai courses. Upon completion of the GPS mapping the Inforemer handheld units will officially begin arriving in China and Thailand for installation.


TomTom, a provider of personal navigation systems based on the Pocket PC, has entered the U.S. market with the launch of TomTom Navigator USA ($319), an in-car door-to-door personal navigation system. The company is basing its new U.S. operations out of Concord MA, and has named former Psion executive Jocelyn Vigreux as president of TomTom USA.
Hewlett-Packard's website says that the iPAQ Slim Thumb Keyboard Expansion Pack will be available soon. HP's states that the expansion pack includes a screen cover protector and is small and lightweight. The slim QWERTY keyboard is designed to fit seamlessly and securely to an iPAQ and will fit into a desktop cradle while attached. It is compatible with the h3800, h3900, and h5400 series.


Crucial Technology, which provides CompactFlash and MultiMediaCards, has rounded out its flash memory card line with three new flash card options; SmartMedia, SecureDigital, and Memory Stick, all manufactured by Lexar Media.

The three new types of cards come in 64MB and 128MB sizes, while the SecureDigital cards are also available in 256MB and 512MB sizes. The SmartMedia cards cost $26 and $40, while the Memory Sticks cost $49 and $53, and the SecureDigital cards' prices range from $38 for 64MB to $309 fo 512MB.


Kanguru Solutions' KanguruMicro CF combines a CompactFlash card reader and USB flash drive in one device. The KanguruMicro CF appears as two drives under the "My Computer" icon when inserted into any USB port, providing the option of storing data on the drive or on either the CompactFlash card or the IBM MicroDrive. The combo reader comes in 32MB ($39.95), 64MB ($49.95) and 128MB ($69.95) flavors. Kangru already has a combo reader available for Secure Digital and Multimedia cards.


Kalem Soft's NesEm is a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Emulator for Palm OS 5.0. With NesEm, you can play hundreds NES games on your PDA. Since NES games cannot be installed on a PDA in their native format, a desktop application for Windows 95/98/2000/NT/XP called NesEm Installer is needed to generate installable files.
