Handango Holds Mobile Software Summit

Handango hosted the third Handango Partner Summit this week in Scottsdale, Arizona. Sponsors of the 2003 Handango Partner Summit include Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Palm Solutions Group, Microsoft, Sony, Handspring, Sprint, Symbian, PalmSource, Kyocera Wireless, Motorola, CSL and @irBitway.

According to the company, this invite-only event brings together top mobile software development firms and industry leaders to discuss the future of the mobile software economy. Handango said this year's theme for the conference, "Are You Ready," challenges attendees to get ready for the next wave of mobile users, devices and networks.

Opening and closing the event were Michael King, senior analyst with Garter, and John Jackson, senior analyst of The Yankee Group, respectively. Other keynote addresses were given by:

- Donna Dubinsky, co-founder and chief executive officer for Handspring
- Haroon Alvi, vice president, head of product applications planning for Sony Ericsson
- Lee Epting, vice president of developer operations for Nokia
- Ken Wirt, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Palm Solutions Group
- Mark Spain, director of ISV services for the mobility group for Microsoft

Additional speakers included Russell Paik, vice president of product management for Sony and Jerry Panagrossi, vice president, ecosystem development for Symbian.
