Wireless operator Microcell is bringing the popular Danger hiptop device to Canada.

The companies said Wednesday that Microcell will offer Danger's hiptop device under its Fido brand for use on its GSM/GPRS network. The device is expected to be available in the fall.

Microcell will be the first carrier in Canada to offer the Danger device, which combines a mobile phone with a Web browser, e-mail, instant messaging, a personal information manager, games and optional camera attachment. T-Mobile first introduced the device under the name Sidekick last year. In May, Triton PCS, an AT&T Wireless affiliate, started selling it with the SunCom brand.

Last month, T-Mobile launched Danger's first color version of the hiptop. Microcell said it would also offer the color device.
