Palm OS download site PalmGear said Wednesday that Aeroplayer, an application for playing MP3 files on Palm handhelds, was the top download for the month of July.

PalmGear said that AeroPlayer enhancement has been among PalmGear's top application downloads since its introduction in October of 2002. Other carryovers from last month include the FlyZip XR and FlyZip ZR compression/decompression utilities in second and third place, respectively, and the DataKeeper personal database utility in the fifth spot. New to the list are three games for the Palm: Lemmings (fourth place), Medieval Heroes (ninth), and 3D Blockout (tenth).

Rounding out the top 10 are PocketSensei's SilverScreen, a tool that customizes the Palm OS interface with various themes; Kent Willyard's MedRules, a medical application that features clinical prediction rules; and Ants Technologies' DateBook on Clock, which brings users' address book, date book, to do list, mail, etc. into one interface.
