Paragon Software has released PiLoc localization for the Palm Tungsten T2 interface. This application creates an environment to use the T2 in a specific national language, providing full translation of the T2's interface (desktop icons, menu, dialogs of built-in Palm OS applications are translated). PiLoc also includes national fonts, national keyboard layout and national Graffiti 2 support. Complete Dutch, Greek and Polish translations of Palm Tungsten T2 are scheduled for release with twenty three other languages slated to be added gradually. A lite version that enables national fonts support, national keyboard layout and national Graffiti support, is already available for Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Finnish, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Icelandic, Latvian, Lithuanian, Mongolian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Turkish. Proporta is launching a full line of leather cases for a wide range of Pocket PC and Palm OS handhelds. The company said this is not a generic case and each style is custom made for the machine it is used for. Using snap in clips and leather coated aluminum fasteners, each machine is kept firmly. In addition, each case has room for cards, styli, cash and additional memory.

Ze Development's Pocket Rangefinder ($5.95) allows Pocket PC users to measure the range of distant objects with just their handheld. According to the company, no additional hardware is required, the application is fully customizable to measure the range to any object, it is accurate and capable of measuring a person's distance at 200 feet to within 10 feet, and supports metric and U.S. customary units.
The company's website says it works by a user selecting an image of a distant object from the applications image database, then holding the Pocket PC at arm's length so that the image and actual object appear next to each other. Adjust the image on your Pocket PC until it appears to be the same size as the actual object and the distance is displayed.
