By PDAStreet.com Staff PNTech has a new modem cable that is compatible with Sony CLIE T,TG, NX, NR, SJ, and SL series handhelds. This cable allows users to connect the PDA to a variety of devices, including GPS units, cell phones, card readers, engine diagnostic units, data loggers, CNC machines, boat engine diagnostic ports, and anything else with a standard RS232 serial port. The part number of the cable which supports the NX80V is the PDCT-M9-6 ($60).
In related news, Xigma Style Japan has released leather cases ($39 each) for the new Sony CLIE UX50/40 handhelds. One is a pouch case, and the other is a flip jacket.
Proporta is offering a new the leather case for the CLIE NX73 and NX80. The case has space for credit, business and memory cards and features a secure attachment system to hold the handheld in place. It comes in two designs, Book Type and Flip Type . Both types cost $31.95.
Astraware has made available a handful of high resolution and Aurora Sound System enhanced titles for Palm OS devices. The enhanced titles include Dynomtie, Bzzz!, Mummy Maze and Alchemy .
Aurora is technology that allows Astraware to include sound effects for audio enhanced Sony and Palm OS 5 devices without the need to make separate versions of the applications or by including bulky duplicate resources. It also allows the dynamic mixing of sound effects General Microsystems has released the latest version of its search engine for the Palm OS, IntelligentFind ($14.95). The version, 2.6.5, is free for registered users. It provides a few bug fixes and improved support for WordToGo. NonVi Games updated version (1.1) of its Palm OS game Build Mars provides twenty missions, six maps, and three new terraforming units. In the game, the year is 2147 and it is up to your to save earth from a population crisis by making Mars habitable.
The latest version, 5.0, of Corsoft's wireless email solution for Palm OS handhelds, Aileron, provides a more user-friendly interface, adds support for sending and receiving Adobe PDFs and various other attachments, and allows users to check multiple email accounts, both business and personal (including AOL, MSN, Hotmail and Yahoo). Aileron 5.0 also offers “push notification” to users of Handspring Treo devices, providing them with “always on” email service that notifies them when incoming email messages have been received. Rotate Mania from Absolutist is a puzzle game that is now compatible with high resolution Palm OS devices. The game contains a number of combinations and can be played with different strategies. It features three different play modes: STRIP MANIA, SHIFT MANIA and TIME MANIA and runs at a resolution of 320x320 with enhanced sound effects and music.
FILLER is a new logic game for the Pocket PC from Exiland Software. The goal of the game is to capture a larger territory than your opponent. In the game, the playing field is filled with small colored squares. At the start, the players are situated on the opposite corners of the field. A randomly chosen player starts the game, after which he makes a move with the stylus on the playing field to choose a territory, which then acquires a chosen color, capturing all the nearby small squares of the same color. The player with the most territories at the end wins.
PDAparts.com has released a digitizer/screen repair kit ($55) for the Sony CLIE T, SL & SJ Series Units. The repair is a glass top repair which should cover most CLIE display cracks. Related Links:
