SplashData has released SplashPhoto 4.0 ($29.95) for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs. SplashPhoto, well known to the Palm OS community, has only recently been ported to Windows Mobile. The company claims it is the first image viewer to enable Windows Mobile users to manage and synchronize their image libraries with a PC. The latest version includes a desktop catalog feature with two-way synchronization, offering a means of managing photos on a desktop PC and a Pocket PC. Its desktop application now enables users to organize image collections into personalized categories and, upon synchronization, the images are arranged accordingly on the Pocket PC. There is no limit to the number of personalized categories that users can create. SplashPhoto also enables users to crop images on the desktop, then format and compress them for viewing on the handheld. All images are stored as JPG files and can be transferred via Bluetooth, infrared or email between different types of devices. SplashPhoto 4.0 is also now available for the Sony Ericsson P800 smartphone. Related Links:
