At Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco, Griffin Technology, a creator of accessories for the Apple iPod, announced iTalk Voice Recorder for the iPod.

Accprding to the company, the iTalk Voice Recorder snaps directly on top of the iPod and turns it into a fully functional voice recorder and playback device. In addition to a built-in microphone and internal speaker, iTalk has a connector that supports both headphone monitoring and the use of an external microphone.

Griffin claims that with iTalk connected to an iPod users can record thousands of hours of seminars, meetings, classes, and other events up to 100 feet away. iTalk also includes a pass-through headphone jack that allows you to monitor voice recording, or to listen to music without having to remove iTalk from the iPod. Users can also download recordings to their computer for playback or archiving.

iTalk is slated to sell for $50, but has a preorder price of $35 until it begins shipping in April.
