FCC Okays FIC Pocket PCs with Dual Wireless Networking

Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) First International Computer (FIC) has been given the okay by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to deliver a new Pocket PC series in the United States. The reason why the new Pocket PC series needs permission from the FCC is because it will feature both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless networking.

Since FIC doesn't release handhelds under its own name, the new Pocket PCs will most likely find their way into the U.S. market if another company chooses to go with FIC's design. As of now, it isn't clear whether that has happened yet.

Not much else is known about the new Pocket PC models other than that they will feature Intel CPUs running from 260 MHz to 400 MHz, Windows Mobile 2003 and 64 MB of RAM.
