Motricity's eReader.com, the most popular source for eBooks on the Web, has released its March 2005 eBook Bestseller List. You can read eBooks on PDAs, smartphones, eBook-specific readers, and PCs.

Last month, the online software retailer also released eReader Pro for Symbian phones --the most popular smartphone platform by far-- Series 60interface platforms. Consequently, owners of smartphones built by Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Sendo, among others can now read selections from eReader.com's 14,000 plus titles. There are also new editions of the Pocket PC and Palm editions of eReader Pro, which includes a built-in copy of the Merriam Webster Pocket Dictionary.

General eBook Stats
Although eBook sales aren't a match for traditional paperback and hard cover book sales (1.4 million downloadable books compared with the more than 2.2 billion traditional books sold in the United States in 2003), they are on the rise.

Back in July 20045, the Open eBook Forum—the standards association for the eBook industry—reported in July that retailers sold 46 percent more eBooks during the first quarter of 2004 than the same period a year earlier. Revenues increased by 28 percent to $3,233,220.
