What about user behavior?
There are some salient points in this article, but the key issue is that no security product will work until you place emphasis on educating the users on the value of the information stored on a mobile device and why it needs to be protected. All mobile devices offer multiple levels of protection now. RIM has a device firewall and allows secure encrypted web browsing. Applications on RIM devices use full encryption of data being transferred, and they have done a good job securing the bluetooth port. Windows Mobile devices offer many options for security, and most enterprise SIM platforms support mobile hardware, including PDA's. The comments about Palm are way off base - they have a multi-threaded OS and support a variety of security tools, including firewalls, password protection, encryption, and secure web browsing. Bottom line - mobile devices are still a commodity and will be treated as such until there is a real threat versus a perceived one.
