Terrible experience
After a very successful experience with a Handspring smart phone, I bought a Treo for T-mobile. What a headache!!! It was replaced 3 times with the same problems all the time. I will NEVER buy another PALM product. If the signal is lost the device freezes. It worked less than 70% of the time.

Great PDA/Phone
I have my new 680 for a couple of weeks now and i have to say: I am jumping for joy. I have had a Tungsten T3 and was not willing to cross over to the smartphone market, but i am very happy that i have done so!
the 680 is a great device and it have a couple of very good features. Like the hires screen, nice usability, no antenna poking out, the size.
The battery life is short, but you have to reload every day and make a backup of your data anyway... So why complain (i don't make phonecalls in the middle of the night.. So it can have a rest and get some food) I hope that palm fixes the problem with the auto-correcting of text and the keyguard feature... Then i will be very happy...

All in all: A great device... I love using it!

Short in by Quality of product and Market Price
I have had evey Palm PDA device and with the exception of the extremely poor Treo 650, the Treo 680 is the wroste of the group. Palm has not taken the most basic initiative like writing drivers for thier Universal Keybroads or Think Outside Blue Tooth Keybroads. Your review points out many problems and I think that the stock market is reflecting the "Short" nature of Palm operations. It is a shame that after all this time I have to look for another PDA provider and on the positive side I can take a lost on my 06 tax return.

I agree
I agree with this review.

I'm dissapointed in the battery life. I upgraded from a Treo 600 (that was malfunctioning). That battery was great.

If I didn't need to upgrade, I would have been kicking myself for spending the money on the 680, becuase it really doesn't offer anything compelling. I would have been just as happy getting a used 600 from ebay.
