I just bought a hw6955 2 weeks ago. I didn't bought any extra memory for now. But I will soon. I am still exploring how it works. But at first glance, my evaluation is 50%/50%. I am thinking of reselling it on ebay...
First the 240x240 screen is quite annoying. I download a chess game, and I cannot play it because I cannot see my opponent pieces in a single glance. Same thing for monopoly, there even no slide bar to see the missing pixels. The lack of USB 2.0 charging mode is annoying too, because my old devices that my ipaq should replace (razr phone and ZEN mp3 player) used to be chargeble without this connector junk. Also, it is too big, it hardly replace my superb and small RAZR. I find the CPU quite slow also, it cannot replace, in speed, my simple motorola phone. If my phone is in a snooze mode, to "send a call" it can take more than 10 seconds!! This is because the contact list may take 5 seconds to open itself. This is quite unacceptable. I dont know for now if this a problem of memory or CPU speed. I will need to check that when I will buy a 4 gb Transcend SD. I just hope that it will accept the 4gb. 2gb is too small for me, knowing that I have a 6gb mp3 player to replace. The Wifi is "ok", i had to lower the security on my network to make it work correctly (WPA).
So my advice is NOT TO BUY the HW6900. For this price (650CDNS%, or 600Euro!) is does not deliver the stuff, it is too immature. Instead, keep your phone and buy yourself a cheaper, simpler and more mature 320x240 PDA.
My choice was based on previous reviews, they all said this was a marvelous instrument. I taught they were "objective", now I guess they were written by some script kids...
Wait for the next generation of pda/phone/etc, they gonna be better than that.
